New colors are finally here! Our little homestead now has its own feathered rainbow adding a splash of color to the place. :-)
12 fertile eggs from our beautiful rainbow flock of coturnix quail. Our average bird weight is 9oz. Eggs are clean and fresh but not washed or refrigerated. We breed for health and temperament first and foremost. Some of our birds are from jumbo lines and a few carry the celadon (Ce) gene. Most of our coturnix are from Myshire and Whisky Tango Farms. Our birds are currently housed in the following groups:
Due to conditions outside our control we can not guarantee hatch rates, however we hatch chicks every few weeks from the same eggs we offer with high success. We also can not guarantee what color chicks will hatch from the eggs you get. We do separate our birds into groups, which you are welcome to select from, but due to genetics in the colors we raise there is always a possibility that other colors will occur. We recommend researching genetics to see what colors may be possible from the parent groups if that is a concern.
We love these lil guys. They have a short incubation (18 days average), are full grown and laying in 6-8 weeks, are fairly quiet, docile, and some color variants are feather sexable. Their 10-14g eggs are very tasty and nutritious, while their personalities and noises are sure to entertain. They sometimes make little cricket chirps, so we refer to them as our cricket birds. For our son who is very sensitive to loud noises, due to struggles with sensory processing, they have been a wonderful addition to our family. Even the little roosters make small noises compared to chickens. We hope these little birds will bring you as much enjoyment as they have us and would love to hear your hatching story! We are also happy to answer any questions you may have.
Hatching instructions are included, but you will need your own incubator and brooder setup as well as gamebird starter food. Not intended for human or animal consumption.
